It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 8th edition of Forum Afrique Expansion, formerly known as Forum Africa. For two decades now, Afrique Expansion’s mission has been to reveal an Africa brimming with potential and possibilities. A continent of 2.4 billion people by 2050. And a major marketplace for all investors in high-growth sectors such as agri-business, energy, infrastructure, consumer goods, and information and communications technology (ICT).
Forum Afrique Expansion is indisputably the biggest networking platform in Canada for Africa-Canada partnerships and business opportunities. Over two days, you will have the opportunity to meet African and Canadian senior government officials, potential investors, and representatives from major bilateral and multilateral financial institutions, thus enabling you to forge partnerships, develop your business network in Africa, and get the strategic tools you need to grow your business in Africa and Canada alike.
The presence of the Kingdom of Morocco as featured country of this 8th edition perfectly captures the essence of the event. I invite all participants to discover the vast resources and potential of this country in full growth and resolutely on the path to emergence.
I am particularly proud of this year’s strong participation by Southern African countries. It is a confirmation of the status of our Forum, which is intended as a platform for showing that Africa is not a country, but a continent comprised of 54 countries offering, from North to South, a rich diversity of resources.
I realize you are here first and foremost to build productive and long-term business relationships. We have made sure to organize B2B meetings that I do hope will fully meet your expectations.
North American entrepreneurs and investors will have the opportunity over these two days to grasp Africa’s full economic potential and to learn a bit more about its business climate. You will realize that the continent has much to offer, as evidenced by the fact that some countries have a growth rate near 10%.
